This 1983 brown duck effigy jar by Thomas Polacca, grandson of Nampeyo of Hano, showcases his unique take on traditional Sikyatki-inspired pottery. Crafted using the coil method, the jar features a duck perched atop a round ball with wings outstretched, tail feathers flowing, and a circular feather motif on the front. Finished in shades of tan, cream, brown, and subtle red, it is signed and dated by the artist—a stunning example of Hopi-Tewa craftsmanship.
