According to Urban Native Era "Our hummingbird design was released in September 2018, a month before Indigenous Peoples Day. We believe it is important to not only acknowledge who we are as Indigenous People but to also acknowledge our teachings and creation stories. The hummingbird is one of the three animals that is part of the creation story of the Indigenous People from the San Francisco Bay Area.
