Inlay with mother of pearl, turquoise, onyx, spiny oyster

Jimmy Poyer began working as an apprentice with Jimmy Harrison, a well known Navajo inlayer. Using the inlay style he learned from Harrison, Poyer started creating his own unique Native American designs. Today he proudly crafts each of his designs by hand from sheet silver, wire, and natural stones even though he enjoys working with turquoise, he is fascinated with the patterns and colors from shells, malachite, jet, coral, sugilite, lapis and other semi-precious stones. This is apparent in all his works.
