Gene Autry led the way with more Latin music and border songs than any other singing cowboy, serenading audiences from the big screen, hit records, and his radio show. Now for the first time, these Spanish-language-inspired songs are on one collection, South of the Border: Gene Autry Sings Songs of Old Mexico. The performances, ranging from 1936 through 1954, are sourced from Gene's popular musical Western films and his weekly Melody Ranch radio show. Songs with Gene singing in Spanish include "South of the Border," "You Belong to My Heart (Solamente Una Vez)," "A Gay Ranchero," and "Yours (Quiéreme Mucho)." Additional tunes inspired by Old Mexico include "In a Little Spanish Town," "Maria Elena," "Mexicali Rose," and "Down Mexico Way."
